K2 Visa

Children of a K1 Visa Holder

WHAT IS A K2 VISA?
As you are submitting the K1 Visa and your fiancée has unmarried children beneath the age of 21 they may enter into the U.S. using a K2 visa. The dependents of the K1 Visa beneficiary can remain in the country with a K2 Visa up to 90 days maximum beginning on the date of entry.

If the marriage between the U.S. citizen and the fiancée occurs as arranged within 90 days, it is mandatory to submit a I-485 application for an adjustment of status prior to the children obtaining 21 years of age. If the marriage does not happen, the children and the fiancee by law, have to depart the U.S. together prior to the 90 day expiration granted for the marriage.

Necessary Documents to Obtain a K2 Visa:

  • Valid passport;
  • Non-immigrant Visa Application (2 copies) each with two recent photos;
  • Affidavit of Support;
  • Authorization to travel from other parent;
  • Full medical examination document

To Obtain a children's visa for the "spouse" of a U.S. citizen, or a K3 visa beneficiary, it is known as a K4 visa.
